I woke up at 6:10 am when Bryan went and got Jordan and brought him to our room. Tried to sleep a little longer with J rolling all over the place then got out of bed at 6:30 am. I ate about 1/2 cup of oatmeal with brown sugar (felt nauseous during the race - maybe ate too much?) Had my "friend" for the 1st time in 2 years! and was trying to figure out how to deal w/it.
I jogged a mile to the starting line. Felt a little heavy and my legs were slow - figured I would ramp it up at mile 2. The first hill up to the reservoir was tiring but I felt like I could take the hills better than most so I powered up all of them as well as running down all of them. I tried to stay on the inside of curves for the most part and started passing a lot of people. Not sure how helpful it is to run with music - I spent a lot of time fiddling with my ipod and in the end it ended up being 1/2 mile off so the pace was all off too. I stopped for water at both water stops to wet my dry mouth. Did feel nauseous at times, especially after running up a hill. Tried to run in the last mile. Accomplished my goal time of under an hour and under 9:30 per mile.
