I had a slice of toast with peanut butter and honey and some warm soy milk which seemed to be just the right amount of food. I didn't feel nauseous at all this time. It was a very cold start - 50 degrees or so. With 4,000 runners it was really hard to start running and it wasn't until around mile 3 it finally started clearing up enough for me to run.
I did expend some effort jockeying for position - next time I will stay toward the front and definitely in front of any strollers. I think I didn't even cross the start line until 5 minutes into the start. Also I didn't have a stub so they had to hand write my finish time. So I think the timing was not very accurate. The course was much easier than the reservoir run, very fast except for the muddy dirt paths. After that I felt like I had mud clods in my shoes and mud stuck on the bottom of my shoes. I had some gatorade at a water stop. I didn't have the ipod and while I felt a little bored at times, at least I didn't need to mess with my music player at any time.
